Happy New year 2021

 Wow - 2021! That crept up on us!! It's strange how quickly the time goes when you are just staying home!!

So far lockdown January has been a great opportunity to restock after a very busy December. Despite all the lockdown time last year, I still didn't seem to have enough stock for December!

Plans for 2021 - keep sewing! I've got a few new mobile ideas in my head, so watch this space for more!

Staying in is not so hard when we have this lovely view!

My trips out are usually to go to the post office - conveniently across the road!

Colourful Elepahnt Baby Mobiles

 Elephant mobiles were my first ever mobile design - way back in 2012 ish! 

During this time, I've sewn them in all sorts of colour combinations. Some seem perpetually popular - yellow, white and grey, especially with some clouds too, whereas other combinations come and go. 

Recently I've had some requests for some brighter combinations, so here are some photos...

Quarantine Sewing

Wow - how much has the world changed, since my last post. I don't think any of us can have totally adjusted to lockdown yet - I still struggle to know what day it is - and keep wanting to check my diary, in case I miss something - even though my 2020 diary is currently pretty redundant.

However, my flat is full of craft supplies (I reckon I could keep going for a good six months, before I totally ran out of craft supplies!!

I started by updated my mobile stock. I was still quite sold out after a busy Christmas season, and hadn't quite caught up, so I now have pretty much caught up, as well as adding some new ideas, which I've had in my head for a while...

I've also had a few name banner orders - here are some photos of those....

Happy New Year - 2019 - New Ideas....

Wow, Happy New Year 2019!! How did that come around so quickly??

After a very busy end to 2018, I've already cut out pieces for 15 new mobiles, I'm ready to have a good few days of sewing and re-stock my Etsy shop ready for all those 2019 babies.

One of my favourite new designs from last year, that I can't wait to get around to making again, was an Alice in Wonderland mobile. It's so fun to read into the characters, and work out how I'm going to recreate them in felt (and which ones to use). I think this is a mobile that will always change slightly, every time I make one.

Crazy Llama Mobile

I've been making llama mobiles for a while, which with mountains, a sunshine and cacti were pretty cool - but then I was given a water bottle with some crazy embroidered llamas on it.....and well....I couldn't ignore it, I had too use it as inspiration for a crazy llama mobile!!

Custom Mobile Orders

I love when customers come and know exactly what they would like, and I am able to make it for them! Its great when they have such strong ideas about what they would like, and even better when I am able to make it for them, and see their excitement when they get it.

I've had a few great custom orders recently! Here are some photos of them:

This lady wanted one of my circus themed mobiles, with the bunting round the top, in a very beautiful mix of pasetel colours, and with a unicorn, a dog, an owl, a bunny, an elephant and a penguin! So cute!

This lovely customer again knew exactly what they wanted - birds native to Cyprus, a sun, moon, stars and rainbows. It was very fun to create some new birds and I especially love how the Kingfisher turned out!

I'm always happy to make new custom mobiles, so if there is ever anything you think of that you'd like made into a mobile, please do let me know!

New Circus Mobile

Wow it's been 2 months since I posted anything! Apologies - I don't know where the time has gone!

So I'm always coming up with new ideas for mobiles, and quite often have an idea in my head for ages before I actually get round to making anything.

So I had the idea for a circus mobile in my head for ages but was a bit worried about making it as I am totally against anyone using animals for performances in any sort of way - but then I thought 'hey elephants aren't pink for a start, so none of my mobiles are totally realistic and my ideas of how to present the animals was so exciting that I wanted to try.

*New Mobile Idea* Hot Air Balloons

So the new mobile designs just keep coming this year!! I keep getting very excited and coming up with new ideas. This latest one - inspired in part by my visit to the Bristol Balloon Fiesta - for the first time in years - features lots of different coloured hot air balloons, some clouds, and a sunshine.
